Camberley Health Centre 2015-16 PPG Survey

As the 2015-16 flu vaccination season draws to a close it seems appropriate to ask the Patient Participation Group for feedback on the changes that were made and the additional changes we wish to make next year.

I understand that the layout and presentation of this survey could be better however my hands are tied in that respect and I have to use this survey editor so I apologise for this in advance and would be grateful if you could nevertheless complete it.

Flu Vaccinations

Next year all vaccinations will be by timed appointment as it was clear that this avoided the difficulties of previous years where many people arrived outside their nominated time slots leading to queuing along the road.

Considering only the flu vaccinations that have taken place since September 2015:

We understand that telephoning patients was a change from the previous scheme of sending out letters, particularly as this required you to then call an unfamiliar number. Apart from the surprise element, was this a suitable way to contact you ?

Next Year's Flu Clinics

Next year we will be using a variety of means to call people for their vaccinations including text messages (asking you to call and make an appointment), voice messages (where an automated message reads out a script asking you to call and make an appointment) and phone calls, as well as having more flu appointments bookable online.

All appointments next year will be by appointment: what impact do you believe that this will have on you?

Electronic Prescribing

Many prescriptions are now being sent electronically to the pharmacy which means that the surgery does not print the green prescription form that you will have come to recognise. It is expected that this will soon extend to those drugs currently not covered e.g. controlled drugs. To register you sign up at the pharmacy where you collect your prescriptions. Most of the pharmacists also take requests for repeat prescriptions by telephone.

Other points of interest

There are currently no other major changes in motion in the surgery however one issue you may wish to be aware of is that due to hospitalisation of two members of the nursing staff we have had to stop carrying out travel vaccinations until their recovery is complete. This will allow us to concentrate our remaining resources on urgent treatments that patients cannot get elsewhere, such as wound dressings and removal of sutures. This is also likely to impact the number of available Practice Nurse appointments and we apologise in advance for this. We will make as many additional nursing appointments available as we can but please bear with us through this time.

Thank you for completing the survey.
