Telephone Access

We offer the following telephone services:

  • Doctor Call Back - available Monday to Friday between 08.00-10.15 for patients that need to be seen within 48 hours or sooner than the first routine appointment. Many problems are solved over the telephone.

  • Routine calls with usual doctor - to provide continuity for patients, each doctor has a limited number of phone call slots available at the end of their morning surgery that should be used to discuss ongoing problems.

  • Nurses - the Practice Nurses have slots available at the end of their morning surgery for queries and advice.

  • Afternoon Duty Doctor - there is a duty doctor every afternoon who can call patients with medical problems that cannot wait until the following day

Please tick the telephone services that you were already aware of:

Giving you enough time

Listening to you

Explaining tests and treatments

Involving you in decisions about your care

Treating you with care and concern

Overall, how would you describe your experience of your GP surgery?

Would you recommend your GP surgery to someone who has just moved to your local area?

Missed Appointments

Have you ever found it difficult to get through on the telephone to cancel an appointment

If Yes, did you manage to cancel your appointment eventually?

If No, please state why e.g. Saturday morning, lines too busy

I think an appointment reminder system via text message would be useful to prevent patients forgetting their appointments?

I think making the number of missed appointments visible to patients in the surgery and on the website would encourage people to inform the surgery if they cannot make an appointment

Parking

At your last visit to the surgery, did you have any trouble parking?

At your last visit to the surgery, did you have any trouble accessing the surgery due to parked cars?

If you have concerns over parking, would you support the surgery in contacting Devon County Council and West Devon Borough Council regarding the problem?

If yes, are you able to suggest a solution?
