The doctors daily appointments are split 30/70. Approximately 30% of these are released one week in advance. These are usually between 8:30-9:10 and a few in the afternoon.
They are useful if you need to plan an appointment in advance, but remember to book these as quickly as possible as once they have all been used up we are unable to offer you another appointment without you contacting us again the next day.
The other 70% are released early in the morning each day. These appointments are for patients who are feeling unwell and need to see one of the clinicians fairly quickly or for patients who have the flexibility of coming in on the same day they contact us. If you are able to phone us first thing in the morning there will be a greater choice of doctors and appointments available. You will be able to phone us from 8.30 am.
1. Have you been able to get an appointment with a doctor a week in advance?
2. a) Do we have the right spread of appointments?
Would you prefer more to be pre-bookable (which would mean that you would have less choice about the time of your appointment if you needed to be seen on the day with an acute problem?)
3. If we made it possible to book appointments using the internet from 8pm the day before, would you be likely to use this facility?
4. Are you registered with one of our part-time doctors (Lindeck or Creed), and if so, have you had difficulty booking an appointment
a) seven days ahead,
or b) on the next working day
5. Were you aware that it is possible to ask your doctor to sign a batch of prescriptions for you to take directly to the pharmacy without needing to attend the surgery every month or two?
6. a) Is there enough to keep children amused?
Would your children play with a train table?
b) Do you have any ideas for the children's corner? We have a lot of empty shelving space...
7. Has privacy at the front desk been an issue for you?
8. Would you like the facility to pay for private vaccinations & using a card?
9. Are you happy to be contacted by text “Please phone 364116 to make an appointment” if the doctor needs to review you in the following scenarios:
a) with a query after receiving a repeat prescription request
b) if a test comes back abnormal (we would check we have the right number when having the test)
c) your six-monthly blood pressure check is overdue
d) should we inform eligible groups when we receive our supplies of flu vaccine
10. GP 'commissioning groups' have taken over decisions about resource allocation from the Health Authority. Might you be interested in helping us decide on our priorities?
Please list here any comments about any of the questions above.
We would also welcome any other suggestions about how we could improve the service we run.
